Kindergarteners tour the world

Dear Bolinas Stinson School Families,

WEEK OF WINTER FUN & GIVING!

What a wonderful week it has been! Both students and staff have had a great time participating in fun, creative activities, in spite of the rain, (for which we are very thankful). Several classes even took field trips to local farms and gardens as well as braved local hiking trails. Students were busy in every classroom working on crafts for friends, family members, and a local community giving project.  Our kindergarteners even got to take a virtual tour the world and learn about different cultures.

WARM WISHES PROJECT ~ RETURNS TO BSUSD

Lauren Pollak, our fabulous 1st grade teacher, rallied our staff to get every student in grade levels PreK-8th to pitch-in and make cards for a very special project called Warm WishesWarm Wishes is a local project that “creates personal, human relationships between Bay Area volunteers and the people on the street once a year when volunteers distribute backpacks stuffed with new gloves, scarves, hats, wool socks, rain ponchos, and hand made cards created by local students to homeless men, women and children living on the streets and the agencies that serve them,” (https://www.marinhhs.org/commu...).

Many of you may remember, or may have helped with this heartfelt project that used to be organized by Cathy Nichelini, our former kindergarten teacher, for many years before she retired. A giant thank you to all of our staff and students who participated this year and kept the giving spirit alive! This year’s cards will be added to the backpacks and be distributed to those in need. If you would like to learn more about this important cause, and help our neighbors in need, please use this link: http://www.warmwishes.org/.
